Welcome

Welcome to Whittington Football Club – one of only 250 F.A. Community Clubs in the UK.
Whittington is a friendly village between Lichfield and Tamworth, and is home to one of the largest amateur football clubs in Staffordshire.

Whittington Team

Whittington F.C. has been providing football coaching and matches to local youngsters for over 15 years and holds the F.A. “Charter Standard” which is the Football Association’s official seal of approval for amateur clubs. This means our players can enjoy training and matches in a well run and safe environment and under the supervision of F.A. qualified coaches at all age groups. We have our own Code of Conduct and our volunteers are police (CRB) checked and trained in Emergency First Aid and Child Protection.

We are also an approved F.A. “Development Club”, which recognises our work with mixed ability groups and our focus on player participation, personal skills, fitness and team building as opposed to just “winning at all costs”. In 2004 we were voted the F.A.’s top Club in Staffordshire for our development work.

The Club currently runs 17 teams for boys and girls from Under 8 to Under 15, and a Ladies team. In addition we organise a Soccer Centre for 5-11 year olds on Saturday mornings run by former West Bromwich Albion player Paul Agnew, as well as various after-schools coaching schemes. We also enjoy links with West Bromwich Albion Academy and other professional clubs for those players with exceptional talent.

For further details about joining the Club, please read the Getting Started page. You can also find out more about what we do by clicking on the headings in the sidebar.
